United Way to Celebrate Campaign
United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region (UWGCR) will host its Annual Membership Meeting and Campaign Celebration this Thursday at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.
Luncheon festivities will include recognition of 2016 campaign achievements and the presentation of awards which honor UWGCR's volunteer leaders, according to news releases issued by the local United Way.
Campaign "Mission Possible" raised approximately $1 million and benefited more than 75,000 people throughout Houston, Montgomery and Stewart Counties as well as the Fort Campbell, Ky area.
This year, a new award will be given at the ceremony. The Robert R. Welch Founders Award is named after one of the founding leaders of United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region, initially chartered in 1956 as the United Givers Fund of Clarksville and Montgomery County.
The award recognizes exemplary support of a Leadership Society member of United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region. Leadership Society members are those contributing $500 or more.
This year, the inaugural award will be presented to Mr. Jack B. Turner. President of the nationally recognized insurance and financial services firm, Jack B. Turner and Associates Inc., Turner inspires notable leadership giving and volunteer service among employees, as well as the community.
Thursday's luncheon is set for 11:30 a.m. and will also include the election of local officers and board members for 2016-2017.
